The spider mittens

These mittens are from Annemor Sundbøs book “Norwegian mittens and gloves” They are really beautiful. She says this about the pattern:

“The spider is a creature that brings good luck in the old Norwegian folktales. He is spinning his cosmic web that entangles into the human destiny in the great world web where we all exists. The spider is in the middle with a cross on his back, and threads are spreading out everywhere like sunbeams. In this web forever green pine sticks can be connected with the eternal love roses”
